Welcome to my website. This site is about my main hobby, photography. The focus of this site lies on photography with the Nikon F mount cameras, the selected shots from each year since 2001 (DSLR starting in 2006) are available in the gallery. The lens reviews in the "Lens reviews" section are my subjective evaluations regarding lenses that I have used over the past years. If you have questions or comments, feel free to drop me an e-mail. Two more reviews are added to the site. This time it is about wide angles: Reviewed are the 20mm 3,5 UD Nikkor in the 20-55mm MF section and the AF-D 20-35mm 2,8 in the AF wide angle category.

After the most horrible trip in a train of my lifetime I returned from Berlin on early Sunday morning and was able to upload a few pictures to the 2010 gallery.

Very few lens reviews have been updated with FX ratings and I will continue to do so throughout the summer. Also pictures have also been added to the 2010 gallery.

A happy Easter time for everybody!
Right now I am sitting here staring at glowing green meadows and mind-blowing intensive red tones on my new TFT display. The calibration hardware did not arrive yet and I am starting to wonder who really aksed for wide gamut monitors. Fortunately I can still resort back to my older display. Four new pictures are added to the 2010 gallery.

Today was the first chance to test the new 400mm 3,5 AI-S lens. A review has been added in the lens review section and two new pictures are added to the 2010 gallery.

I started to add ratings to the lens review sections. Those ratings are not given as a scale of points but rather as a short summary of the key characteristics of the lenses on DX and FX. This should help to differentiate the performance on the different sensor formats. The update of all lenses will take quite a while because I did not have the time to test all lenses on both formats yet. If I already did the update of the reviews takes time, too.

A new gallery section, called "the attic", was introduced today. There you will find older pictures, that did not make it into one of the other galleries. Scans of old film negatives are also included.

Photography action is a bit slow right now, but I managed to get out today for a test drive. Two new (less exciting) pictures added to the 2009 gallery.
More exciting is my cracked ballhead. I've used it only three times within seven months. Quite an achievement, Manfrotto...
